EARLY CHILDHOOD INTERVENTION
How Your Baby Grows
Your baby's first three years of life are an amazing time of growth and learning. During these early years, most babies develop new skills in a predictable order… they crawl before they walk; they point before they use words etc. Your baby grows and develops in their own way, at their own pace. How Your Child Grows is a guide to what babies are learning at certain ages. All children grow and develop at their own pace. Sometimes children have special developmental needs or health concerns that may put them at risk for, or cause a developmental delay.
Getting Started
If you are concerned about how your baby is learning, developing, hearing or seeing you can get a "developmental check-up" from qualified ENMRSH Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) staff. Getting your baby help during the first 3 years can allow him or her to learn and build new skills that can make a lifetime of difference. This kind of help is called early intervention. Early Intervention helps parents in developing skills and knowledge to support their child's learning and development. This "developmental check-up" or screening will help to determine if your child will be Eligible for services.
ENMRSH Early Child Intervention
Services Can Help!
The ENMRSH Early Childhood Intervention Program provides early intervention services that promote the capacity of parents and other caregivers in the child's life (such as childcare workers, other family members etc.) to support the child's development.
ALL SERVICES ARE OFFERED FOR FREE
THERE IS NO COST TO YOU OR YOUR CHILD
The family and a team of ENMRSH's early intervention personnel will develop an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). The IFSP will document the outcomes identified for the child and family as well as the early intervention and other services to help meet those outcomes. The IFSP will detail how often, for how long, and the method by which each service will be provided. A family may accept or decline any service offered to them.
Early intervention services will be provided in settings where the child typically spends their day (for example, home, childcare, with other family members or other community settings). Children learn and develop through the ongoing relationships with their parents and others in their life. Early Intervention services can help families find opportunities for learning within in their child's daily routines such as playtime, mealtime, bedtime etc.
Early Intervention services offered through ENMRSH ECI may include:
- Audiology
- Family education, counseling and home visits
- Occupational therapy
- Physical therapy
- Service coordination

- Bilingual Service Providers (English or Spanish)
