Lead Janitor

Job Type: Full Time
Location: Cannon AFB

Shift Monday-Friday 7:30-4:00 (some weekends and after hours)

Responsible for planning work related activities including the organization of workspace, workstations, crews, etc., to obtain a more effective and productive operation. Must demonstrate the following characteristics; be able to adapt to changing work conditions; provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers; demonstrate leadership and organizational skills; and represent the agency in a professional manner at all times

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Supervision experience in a competitive work setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of janitorial service, use of cleaning chemicals, floor care techniques, and the use of janitorial equipment.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in management.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Ability to pass background screening and/or obtain base clearance.
  • Ability to pass drug screening.
  • Possess a working telephone.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Up to date immunization and flu shots.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Accomplish time and motion studies, job evaluations, floor layout, use of standards, and methods for costs and price instructions.
  • Be familiar with ordering, controlling, and inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Contract is considered mission essential, and work must be performed regardless of environmental conditions.
  • Must be able to perform quality control inspections.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and collect data at a high school level.
  • Demonstrate patience.
  • Coordinate several tasks and handle various situations in a calm and professional manner.
  • Must have ability to supervise and instruct others and make schedules.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires the use of hands, arms, and fingers.
  • Ability to balance, climb, bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Walk, stand, and/or sit for eight hours per day.
